October in Lomé

The management of SPES Lomé is doing well with its two centers: the one for Adolescents, which has twenty-three (23) young people, and the one for the little ones, which has twenty-five (25) children. October has been a month that brought many changes in the life of the centers as well as in that of the children, including: The assumption of duties by the new director, and the Head of the Adolescents.

Two separate meetings were held to officially introduce the new director and the new head of the teenage center to the staff and children, who took office at SPES Lomé on October 1, 2025.

The new team is organizing itself with close and distant support from the former team.

Schooling

On the side of the boarders at the Lycée, after this new school start, everything is going well in their various schools and at all levels. External tutors have started review sessions in primary school to better support the students in their studies. After a month and a half of intensive classes, a first 10-day break (from Friday, October 24 to Sunday, November 2, 2025) is granted to students nationwide.

The start of the university term, for its part, began this Monday, October 20, 2025, and registrations in the various departments are ongoing. One of the five (5) new high school graduates, joining the ten (10) returning students, who aspires to become a priest, has received approval from the President of SPES International, and the President of SPES TOGO, for his enrollment at the Carmelite priest training center in Ouidah, BENIN. After completing the necessary formalities, his departure from Togo is scheduled for November 1, 2025, for seven years of priestly studies.

A student in Business Communication defended his thesis for the attainment of his BTS (Higher Technician’s Certificate) at the University of Lomé on October 15, 2025. After the jury’s deliberation, he was awarded a distinction. This milestone paves the way for his professional integration.
