
Life in the two SPES Lomé centers continues smoothly. To date, SPES Lomé operates with a total of forty-seven (47) residents, including twenty-four (24) young people at the adolescent center following the departure of Christian AMENOPE for his priestly training in Benin, and twenty-five (25) children at the toddler center. An additional thirty-two (32) young people with families and in Benin bring the total to seventy-nine (79) children cared for.
Schooling
Children, from kindergarten to high school, are regular and diligent in their classes. Rehearsals are going very well at the primary and middle school levels, while at high school, arrangements are being made to resume sessions with external tutors, mainly to strengthen these students in scientific subjects (mathematics and physics). After a little over two months of classes, from Monday, November 24 to Thursday, November 27, 2025, our high school students successfully started and completed their supervised assignments for the first semester of 2025.
Registrations and classes are going very well among our academics in Lomé. We hope that their trainings have started well while waiting to hear from them when they will be able to contact us.
Learning
On their side, the young apprentices continue their training very well in their various training workshops. Two of our young people have joined the ranks of the apprentices.
Health
During this November 2025, some children suffered from malaria and boils on their bodies. They received medical care after consultations and medical tests.
The psychologist continues her work supporting the children and youth of SPES TOGO.
Other news
On November 19, 2025, the SPES Lomé Center was honored by the presence of the Minister of Solidarity, Gender, Family, and Child Protection during the official launch of the tour to update the database of child care facilities in Togo.
A project of the Togolese League for the Protection of Children (LTPE), an organization that works for the well-being of children in vulnerable situations. The tour aims to survey all reception facilities, collect updated data on their operations and needs, with a view to strengthening collaboration with state institutions responsible for child protection. The SPES Center in Lomé was the first to be recorded at the national level. The Board of Directors, led by Madam President, mobilized to give a special shine to this event hosted at the Center.
The visits to the house and the dormitories left a good impression on the Minister and his delegation, who praised all the efforts made by SPES for the well-being and development of children in vulnerable situations.
The renewal of the approval for the two SPES centers was discussed, with imminent certainty of its issuance.
On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, the company MAJOREL, which once again partially funded the renovation of the playground following that of the computer room at the Children’s Center, officially handed over these renovated spaces to the delight of the children, in the presence of the president and some members of the Board of Directors.
Weather
The month of November experienced less rain in favor of intense heat, which already signals drought in the south of Togo, particularly in Lomé. It is in this climate that the year-end festivities of 2025 are expected.
